  Really nice spot! Easy to reach from Canberra, relatively easy parking (the car park is not that big). Perfect for families! Water was brown and I'm not used to it. In Europe we wouldn't swim in a river like that, but apparently it's ok here :)

  Casuarina Sands is perfect to visit for swimming during the summer months and a pretty place to enjoy any other time of the year. Plenty of room for a picnic blanket and lots of shade. There is a small toilet block and water tap and limited parking. You can take an enjoyable walk along the river towards the rapids. Seasonal fishing is allowed. As you drive in to the park from the main road, there is another road directly to the left which bends around under a bridge to another large parking area with a large toilet block and a shelter, with bbq's. The river here is more shallow with rocks and small rapids and great for kids to play around.
